Ashley Maina is a Boston-based yoga teacher introducing a new style of yoga to the city. With nearly a decade of experience practicing yoga, studying personal growth, and teaching Bikram Yoga, Ashley was recently certified as a Buti Yoga Teacher.
What is Buti?
Buti Yoga is a soulful blend of power yoga, cardio-intensive tribal dance, and body-sculpting movement developed by celebrity trainer Bizzie Gold. Buti Yoga utilizes the Spiral Structure Technique to sculpt and tone the deep abdominal muscles that stabilize and strengthen the body. The result is long, lean muscle. The word “buti” is an Indian Marathi word that means “a cure that has been hidden or kept secret.” The practice of Buti Yoga brings about total transformation.
I feel like Buti Yoga is a natural fit for Boston, and I can’t wait to bring it to a new city. I believe that when you find something you love to do that transforms you, you naturally want to share it and bring it to your community. I encourage any teacher who falls in love with a movement practice to bring it and share it with your full heart. If you’re passionate about something and truly embody it, you have an easy road ahead of you.
I am focusing on three major channels in my efforts to bring Buti Yoga to Boston.
- Teaching at a MoveWith Partner studio (Radiant Yoga Boston) and leveraging the MoveWith platform
- Employing a Social Media strategy including Buti Yoga video teasers
- Collaborating with local wellness companies to host pop-ups and workshops centered around Buti Yoga
